About this place

Alexandra Pivovarova is a photographer who spent seven years on weddings before becoming a mum changed her work. She now puts mothers who are rarely in the frame into the pictures with their children.

Family and maternity sessions last an hour, outdoors at the beach or in the bush, or at home. For outdoor shoots she recommends golden hour, just after sunrise or in the hour before sunset. Maternity shoots suit 28 to 34 weeks, and partners and children can join in. Newborn sessions take two hours, with time for feeds and settling, ideally when baby is seven to ten days old, though she photographs babies up to three months. To book, fill in the enquiry form on her site: session information arrives by email straight away, and she replies personally within one business day. Galleries come online within a month.
